A will is an official legal document which leaves property to the people or groups of your choice including close family
members, friends, churches or charities.
Its easiest to make your will if you've gathered this information first:
a list of the people who will get your property (including your personal property--Example: jewelry, furniture, etc.)
a list of alternate beneficiaries -- the people who will inherit your property if your first-choice beneficiary dies before
you
if you have children under age 18, a list of your first and second choices to serve as Guardian (make certain the persons
agree to this responsibility first)
a list of your first and second choices for Executor (check to make certain that the person will agree to perform this
duty upon your passing)
contact information for people you name as Guardians, Executors, or Caretakers for your pet
information about debts that you want to forgive (if any), including the date you lent the money and the amount you want
to forgive
How long will it take to make my Online Will, Living Will or General Power of Attorney?
We will email you a "Client Questionnaire" to complete and return to our offices via email upon verification of your payment.
You will receive your completed document(s) usually within three (3) business days or sooner of our receipt of your completed
Client Questionnaire.
After you purchase your will, ByersLegal stores your personal information until your document(s) are complete. After your
BYERSLEGAL Online document(s) are delivered to you via email, your personal information is removed from our system for your
personal protection and confidence. YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION IS NEVER SOLD OR TRADED BY BYERSLEGAL. We appreciate
your trust and confidence in us.
How do I pay for my Online Documents ordered on ByersLegal.com?
Click on the "Make A Payment" tab on the left-hand side of the website and make your payment with your Visa, MasterCard,
American Express, Discover or Paypal account.
What will my completed BYERSLEGAL Online Document(s)look like?
Your ByersLegal Online Document(s) will be sent via email at the address you provide. It will be formatted as a "Word"
document and ready to print at your location as a regular letter-sized document (8 1/2" x 11") on the printer of your
choice. You will not receive printed documents through the mail. You will receive via email a BYERSLEGAL "Client
Questionnaire" to complete and return via email to our office upon verification of your payment. You will receive your completed
BYERSLEGAL document(s) usually within three (3) business days or sooner following our receipt of your finished "Client Questionnaire".
What do I do once I receive my Online Document(s) from BYERSLEGAL?
You must print out and sign your will in front of a notary and two adults over the age of eighteen (18) who do not inherit
under your will. Choices for your witnesses can include: neighbors, co-workers or a local pastor. These people don't need
to read the will, but each must see you sign it and then sign it themselves as a "witness". Store this original document in
a safe place, such as safe deposit box at a bank. ByersLegal DOES NOT recommend use of a home safe or so-called "fire-proof
box" stored in your home. Many times even if such a box survives the heat and flame of a fire, the contents are destroyed.
Complete signing instructions will be provided with your finished document(s).
You can also make and give a copy of your documents to anyone you choose for information and reference. If at any later
point in the future you make a new will or other document, be sure to destroy the current copy and give out copies of your
most recent document to avoid confusion after your death.
What other important estate planning and health care documents might I need?
In addition to a will, you might consider making: a LIVING WILL / POWER OF ATTORNEY (to tell others about your Health Care
decisions if you are too ill to do so and to name a person to carry out those wishes) and GENERAL POWER OF ATTORNEY (to appoint
a trusted person to handle your affairs if you are unable)
To learn more about these documents and to order them Online from BYERSLEGAL.COM, click on the appropriate tab at the left-hand
side of the screen.

You must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident to order a ByersLegal Online Will, Living Will or General Power of Attorney.
ByersLegal Online documents are not available for U.S. residents of Louisiana or the U.S. territories, Guam or the US Virgin
Islands. You must be at least 18 years old to order or make a valid BYERSLEGAL Online document(s)and be of sound mind (meaning

Why can't I order ByersLegal Online documents which are valid in Louisiana?
Since the state of Louisiana was originally under the control of France, Louisiana based its laws on the French Napoleonic
code, while the other 49 states based their laws on English common law; thus, Louisiana's estate planning laws remain unique.
